Troubleshooting Overview
Troubleshooting is a broad category that is best tackled incident by incident. However I’ll go over a general overview of some typical problems and solutions. Some of the common problems I hear are people saying that their computer is running slower than normal or that some application has crashed on them or that their computer is frozen. In all these instances the first thing to do is restart your computer. Most of the time a restart will help tremendously. If you have restarted your computer and are still experiencing the same problems you can move on to the second step, which would be to do a little maintenance on your computer, repair permissions, clear out the cache etc. If you are having problems with your computer watch the Maintenance videos for detailed instructions. Like I said, troubleshooting is a broad category and there is simply too much to cover without having a specific issue, but one thing I would like to mention, if your computer starts making a clicking noise, your hard drive is most likely dying. In this case it is best to immediately back up your hard drive and take your computer in for repair!
