System Preferences - Appearance
The first feature of Appearance is color choice. Right now the color is set to blue if you open a finder window you will see that this area is blue. Now if I change the color to graphite, notice how the color has changed in my window. The highlight color is the color you see when you select something. Right now it’s on blue and this is what it looks like. Let’s change it to red and see the difference. So you can really customize your system to reflect your taste or assist you in being able to see it better. Place scroll arrows refers to the position of the up and down arrows. Right now the arrows are set together, which looks like this. You don’t have to move the mouse very far to navigate up and down. If you don’t like that, you can try selecting at top and bottom. See how the arrows for navigating are now apart at the top and bottom. The next choice, click in the scroll bar to jump to the next page selected, which looks like this, it doesn’t matter where I click in the scroll bar, it will take me to the so-called next page of the window. If I choose Jump to here, the scroll bar will take me to the point where I click. Number of recent items is a useful tool that appears under the apple menu. It tracks the most recent items you have opened or used. It’s helpful when you want to quickly open something you just had open. Here you can set the number you want it to keep track of. Font smooth styling refers to how fonts will appear on your screen. I generally keep mine to automatic as well at 8 for turn off smooth text for fonts under a certain size. And that's the appearance section. So definitely check it out and customize however you’d like!
