Fast User Switching
Fast user switching is a good tool to use if you have multiple users. It is a way for multiple users to be logged in at the same time and to easily and quickly switch between the two users. To set it up go to your system preferences, accounts and first you need to make sure that you have more than one account. Click on the lock and enter your password to make changes. Then you want to click on Login Options. Then check Enable Fast User Switching. A dialog window pops up warning you that you should trust the other users if you are going to use this feature, I do, so I’ll click ok. Now you can close system preferences. If you look at the top right of the screen now it’s displaying my user name. If I click on my user name, a window pops out that displays all of the users, so now I can select another user and log into that account while my own account still stays active and exactly the same.
