Understanding the Dock
The “dock” appears at the bottom of your screen, but you can also change it to be on the right or left of your screen if you prefer. The dock is highly customizable and very useful. The dock uses icons as shortcuts to get to certain applications or folders, making what’s important to you easily accessible. The dock will come loaded with certain icons already there. If you roll your mouse over them the computer tells you what applications they are for. We will get into how to customize your dock later, but for now, just understand that it is one of the key ways of navigating through your computer.
