Getting Familiar with iTunes
Once you have set up iTunes, take a minute to get familiar with all of the different parts. On the upper left you will find the Library. This contains your music library, your movies library, TV shows, podcasts and radio. If you are connected to the Internet and you click on radio you will discover several streaming radio stations in all genres. You can listen to any of these radio stations for free. To activate a station just click on one and hit play, or the space bar. Next you will find the iTunes store. Below that you will find “Shared” and that refers to home sharing or other shared libraries on your network. Home sharing allows you to share the purchases you make in the iTunes store with more than one users on your computer or household. Below that you will find the iTunes Genius which when activated will make playlists and suggest new music based on your existing music. Finally on the bottom you will find Playlists, this includes the automated playlists that come with iTunes as well as any that you add. On the very bottom you will find a plus sign, click that to create another playlist. On the top right you will find a search bar, here you can type in a search to find anything in your library. To the left of the search bar you will find a few buttons that change the view of your library, list, icon or cover flow. On the top left of the window you will find the volume control and the play/pause, forward/back button. This a brief overview of the basic parts of iTunes. Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself.
