Setting Your Clock To Announce The Time
In Mac OS X you can set your clock to announce the time. That means when the clock strikes the hour, a robot voice will come on and announce, “It is now 8pm” and so on. This can be useful when you are working at your computer for hours on end and need to be reminded of the time, and to perhaps take a break and stretch. To set your clock to announce the time simply go to your System Preferences and click on the Date & Time icon. Then click on the Clock tab. Next, check the box next to “Announce Time.” Now you can choose to have the announcement made on the hour, half-hour or quarter-hour. If you click on “Customize Voice” you can choose your favorite robot voice that you’d like the computer to use. Now you are all set, close System Preferences. Now your clock will announce the time!
